It is Friday and it is Fabulous! The weekend is upon us! Of course this means for me that spring break will be at it's end in just a matter of days. Man this week as sure gone by fast!

Anyway for our first segment of Fabulous Friday, I have a amazing toilet paper roll mini I would like to share with you. I did make this one a long time ago at Halloween time, but I just love this mini so much that I wanted to use it for our first segment! I hope you enjoy it!

I made my first video!

I am so excited! Last month I finally broke down and bought myself a new digital camera. It came with the option to make videos! My old on did as well, but it didn't record sound, but my new one does! So now I have a way to share all those video tutorials I promised sometime ago! Of course I will have to redo them because my camcorder is too old to be able to use those videos.

Swaps yet again!

Yes you all know by now that I love swaps! I am currently in 16 swaps. I was in 17, but the hostess canceled that one. It was a card pal swap. 6 of them i am hosting. 2 of those have been mailed back out and just waiting to get word on when they have arrived back to everyone. Another 2 are due on the 1st, so those will go back out the first week of April. The last two I just opened up and still taking sign ups. As for the other ten. Three out those ten are monthly secret sister type swaps and 1 of those three is a card swap. 2 of them I still need to work on, but they are not due for a while, so I am in no hurry. The other 5 are complete and have been mailed out.

Each month I host a Learning Swap over at Scrapbook.com. For Round 4 I made a Shake box, Tags and Stick pins. The battery died in my new digi before I could take a pic of the stick pins I made. So once the batter is charged I will get it loaded up for all to see.

This is the first shaker box I have EVER made. I did a winter theme becasue I love winter as well Christmas. Winter, Christmas and Halloween are my favorite themes to scrap, so I always find a way to make something around those when I get the chance. Plus I LOVE making those adorable little snowmen!

Below is the tag I made. I am actually happy on how it turned out. Granted it wasn't what I had pictured in my head, but I like just the same!

These are the butterflies I made. To be honest I will NEVER dip the Fanciful Flight Die cuts into UTEE again. (3) That was hard to do! They did turn out very pretty, but a lot of work!

I so badly wanted to get the Toilet Paper Roll cards I made added to this post as well, but the battery died in my new digi before I could get that far. I do love my new digi and have been playing with since I got it at the beginning of this month. I bought it on the 5th and the battery died today after all this time playing with it! So I am thrilled about that. Well not that battery is dad and needs to recharge, but with how long it lasted! With my last digi I was lucky to get 5 minutes in before the batteries were dead and needed to be changed!

Glitter Tutorial!

Well seeing how I am unable to upload the video tutorials I have done, I decided to just make them as a downloads from my website. Once I get a newer camera I will attempt to do the videos. I new battery for my laptop is the top of my list. I have thought about getting a web-cam and doing broadcast on Ustream instead, but I haven't decided yet if I want to do that.

Anyway back to original topic here. I decided to start with glitter because that is something I know about that has been asked alot in various places on the Internet. This technique used will end the issues with loose glitter getting all over your projects. The trick is to seal your glitter and this tutorial will show how I do that for my projects. It is very versatile and one you will be time and time again!

My plans for this weekend are to finish up on all of the swaps I have not yet finished. Then start on the two I just signed up for tonight! I LOVE swaps with a passion! I don't use what I have received. Mostly because I like it too much and can't figure out a layout to do it justice! LOL

Plus I want to work on my own albums. My goal is to finally get my daughters baby album done along with her elementary school album done. LOL She will be 12 in less than 2 weeks and in middle school now. I think I better try to scrap more of the older stuff instead of the newer stuff!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't forgotten about uploading my videos. I am still working on the editing process. My camcorder didn't come with any software for it at all and the two movie making programs that are built into my computer wont do what I need for it to do. So I am searching for a free editing software on the net that will do what I need it to do. I don't want to go out and buy the software for something I haven't really got into just yet. Need to get the feel of it all first. Plus in the future I am going to be buying a better camcorder. One that don't take those tiny mini DVD's. I am looking into getting one that uses SD cards instead.

So once I have figured it all out and know what I am doing, I will be uploading my videos. I made 5 or 6 before I learned it wasn't so cut and dry for the dinosaur equipment I own...LOL

I finished the mini album I was making for a swap I am in. Even though it didn't turn out anything close to what I had pictured in my head, I am still very proude of it. You will have to forgive the poor quality of the pictures. I no longer have a camera that will take good photos anymore. My digi has just about had it and the camera on my cell is very touch and go. SoIi am saving up to get the camera I want

I am still trying to get the videos to upload. I have them all edited and ready to go to YouTube, but for some odd reason I keep getting a message telling me that it isn't in the right format. So once I get it all figured out I will be uploading them onto my YouTube page.

Now that i got my room all organized with my personal and business stuff better separated from each other, I opened up my etsy store! I don't have everything up just yet, but I have a few things. History/discovery:

Structure:

Mercury is terrestrial planets that is 2439 km (1524 mi), is radius. The surface of Mercury is a crated terrain with smooth plains and many deep craters very similar to the earth’s moon. The craters formed when meteors or small comets crashed into the planet. Radar scans from earth indicate that craters at Mercury's poles contain water ice. The floors of the crater never get any sunlight, so the temperature never gets high enough to melt the ice. Little is still known about the interior core of mercury though it is believed to be hot and fluid like.

New Year Resolutions

I think I have made my self some pretty good resolutions this year. Some are pretty simple, but others with be hard as it has to do with changing myself a little bit.

To not get so frustrated when I totally mess up the first time when it comes to something crafty.
To not eat so much chocolate.
Exercise more that 3 times a week.
Go back to having Family Home Evening every Monday.

Now for the real hard ones.

Shortly after my ex moved in I ended up being forced to give up the things I love. Things like Family Home Evening, watching the BYU Channel and reading the scriptures. Having Late Night Movie Night and game night. These were all things that had to do with the TV not being on ESPN or resulting in him not having his way completely. So naturally to keep from being hit, things thrown at me or him trashing the house, we were forced to give in his demands. He tossed out my bible and my book of Mormon because he said just by me sitting peacefully reading to myself was forcing religion on him. So I am no longer going to allow someone to force me to have to give anything up again.

Growing up I was programed to believe that no one will ever care how I feel, what I want or what I need. Also that anything I have to say isn't of any importance and no one wants to hear me speak. So my whole life I have never really put an effort to do anything about it when it came to some things. I have always listened to everyone problems and help them when they needed it. Yet when it came to my turn majority of the people I have been there for were always too busy. So gradually I had been working on just not having them in my life. I have always felt that a real friend is there for you no matter what. Even when what ever it is you are going through they really can't do anything, but offer words of encouragement. Further more if I have something to say I will not always keep it myself. I have a voice and it deserves to be heard, just like everyone else!

So there are my resolutions for this year!

Jumping for joy!

This summer I made some video tutorials and also took pictures for tutorials that can be downloaded. I put it all on discs so it was all in one place. Well it disappeared from the craft table. I found those disk in my daughters room today! So now i can do my editing and put them up on my website. So starting this week I will be doing my editing and uploading them as I get them done.

Another thing I am excited about is that an art gallery opened up this month. It filled with nothing but Thomas Kinkade paintings! I haven't gone yet, but Alicia and I will be doing that during her Christmas break.

Tonight she has her Christmas concert for school. We don't have to be there until 6, but I have her getting ready now (4:15) becasue we would be late if she got ready any time later then now. I am just tired of always having to sit in the back and not even being able to see her. So hopefully this will be a time I wont be stuck in the back.

December Challenges

Getting my scrapbooking done is huge challenge for me. I am so far behind that is is just pathetic. So I thought of doing a few challenges for myself. Last month I hosted 2 challenges on scrapbook.com and everyone had a lot of fun. So I am extending to all who view my blog.

The first challenge is the Out of the box challenge. I challenge all of you to get those old pictures either out of the box, plastic container, undeveloped rolls of film or any place you have old photos that are stored away being neglected.

The second on in to "Shop your stash". I have huge problem with buying all kinds of things and not using it right away. I see something I like and not have anything in mind for it. I have things that I bought 10 years ago when I first started scrapbooking. So I challenge all of you to create a layout with only using stuff that is 6 months or older.

These challenges are for you to get caught up in your scrapbooking and to get rid of the old to make more room for the new or in my case to just make your stash little bit smaller and more organized. LOL If I use it I wont have to spend money on a way to store it.

Mystery Swap # 41

One of the swaps I am in monthly swap that I love being a part of! It is actually my favorite swap!!!!! I was in four groups but I couldn't get a pic of the Santa hats I made, so I just gave up trying to take pic.

I used my cricut machine to make the spider in a wed pp. I ran the spider and wed through my sticker maker to sprinkle glitter in them. The pic doesn't show it too well, but I used yellow glitter for the eyes.

This one my daughter actually designed. She came up with the whole thing all by herself. I did the cutting with my cricut machine and sizzix. She did the shading and stamping!

I love my spellbinders dies! Mainly I love the emboss and stencil option they give you! For these candy canes I did just that! I used chalk for the red and the green!

Getting Closer

Big sigh....Another year closer to 40!!!!! I did have a great birthday though! The night before my friends kidnapped me. They took me bowling. I had blast! My friend Brandy got me a wonderful card that brought tears to my eyes and some scented lotion.

Alicia got me the Late Night Expansion pack and the Fast Lane Stuff pack for the Sims 3! She also got me a box a chocolate. Made me and Oreo pie and made my birthday cake again this year.

She use Jolly Ranchers and fruit snack to make a smiley face. For the 36 she use gummy worms! Alicia also used Jolly ranchers and Gummy worms to put around the cake. She is just too precious!

Halloween Swap

I made these paper piecing for a Halloween swap that I offered to do an angle spot in. The theme was Black Cats. So I thought that this pattern would be perfect! When I was posting this on my gallery at scrapbook.com I realize that I forgot to dot the eyes. I am glad that I uploaded the pic before sending them off so i was able to fix that.

Swaps, Swaps and More Swaps!

The past few months I have participated in a number of swaps! Right now I am in a total of 14 swaps! I know that seems like too much for a person to handle, but 7 of them have been mailed off. I am just waiting for them to come back to me. No big hurry to see any packages in the mail right away though. Only one of them are due to be swapped out and mailed back to all of the participants. For the rest of them the due dates are the end of next month through March.

Swaps are wonderful! You have the opportunity to challenge yourself to learn something and make new friends. The thing I love most about swaps is hosting them. It always so much fun to get something in the mail. Even if it is something you can't keep. Plus you get to see what everyone has made for the groups you are not in.

Right now I am hosting three swaps. One of them is pretty much done. A Toilet Paper Roll Secret Pal swap. One person has already received theirs from their pal and my pal should be getting hers either today or tomorrow. I forgot to take pictures before sending it off. So I won't be able to share my creation unless she posts pic in her gallery. I hope she does! Most of all I hope she likes it. Seeing how I was hosting the swap I took the opportunity to pick something that was a challenge for me instead of picking something that was easy.

The other two are open and sign ups are still open for both of them. One of them is for handmade embellishments. The thing I love most about scrapbooking is making my own embellishments so I wanted to host a swap for just that. Feel free to check it out! Handmade Embellishment Swap. Trip to the ER.

I had to take Alicia to the ER again last night. This time for her wrist. She had hurt it playing volleyball during lunch. With the way she was acting and the way her wrist was looking I was thinking if she didn’t sprain it really good she must have a minor fracture. Turns out she sprained it really good. She has to wear a splint on her wrist for the next two weeks, but she is fine. Alicia was worried that she might have broken something and have to wear cast. If that would have been the case she wouldn’t have been able to play her trumpet or be able to perform in her school’s band concert next week.

Body Make Over Progress.

I did my test run on the six week body make over and I have lost 5 pounds in 5 days. I know it is just water weight, but the faster I lose the water weight the faster I can get to real results!

Yesterday was on first day of trying the 6 week body make over plan. After dropping my daughter off at school I hit Wal-Mart to get the proper foods for the rapid 6 day period. I only ate what was either on the card or in Infinite Menu Planner, but the exception of dinner. I wasn’t going about to buy all those groceries. I felt great and I didn’t feel hungry after a meal. I was thinking I was going to but I didn’t. After all 3 oz of chicken and ½ cup of fruit really isn’t all that much.

I know I can’t do the whole plan the way it says I should for my body type. I am anemic, which I have to control by a diet plan. I am supposed to eat foods that are high in iron. I am to do that by eating red meats and high iron veggies. According to the 6 week program I am to cut way back on the red meats and eat only white meat.

Eating the wrong foods for my body type really isn’t my biggest problem. My biggest problem is that I tend to skip meals. I have never been someone to eat breakfast. For many years I didn’t eat breakfast. For lunch I would have something small, like a lunch meat sandwich with a glass of milk. So my problem is more of not eating enough food. My body would store the fat as its own survival

I did eat breakfast yesterday. I wasn’t hungry but I ate anyway. I had three egg whites and a banana that I washed down with large glass of water.

Shoes!

For several weeks now I have been trying to find a pair of shoes for Alicia. It is so hard to find shoes for her. The ones she likes are never in her size or too expensive. She was given a gift card by one of my friends. Why he gave it to I do not really know, but he did. So she decided that she would get her a pair of shoes she really liked. We went to four different stores and didn’t have any luck at all. A friend called me while we were at the mall. When I told her what we were doing she told me about a sale going on at another store. So Alicia and I drove across town to look. Right away she found a pair of shoes. With the sale and the gift card she had I spent a total $2.50 on a $60.00 pair of shoes!

Our fat cat Tinkerbell is very lazy. I have no clue on what to do with her. She is very active, but she just eats and eats. As of lately she has not been bathing herself properly. So this morning I filled the tub and dunked her in. For the past hour now she has been licking herself dry. In the process giving herself a bath!

Crazy and Busy!!!

Only four more weeks of hard core studying and loads of homework! Then I am done and off to my externship. I go in Friday for my TB test and tidier done my MMR and Hep shots. My Mom lost my shot records and the health department only has a birth certificate and a food handlers cards from nearly 20 years ago! They do have that I have the second shot in the hep serious in 2000, but that date is wrong. I was done with series in 98 and it was my daughter who had the hep shot on that date. She was almost two months old from the date they gave me.

New way to do the dishes!

This afternoon I had asked Alicia to do the dishes. She being the girl she is did it without delay, but was moody about the whole thing. She later changed her tune when I walked into the kitchen. She had put her arms through the neck of her shirt. When I asked her why she told that she. "I was tired of the sleeves falling down and getting wet!"

I could not resist and had to take few pictures. Too many times I catch her doing something and am unable to take a pic. I am either too late, but most of the time I have no batteries and the batteries are dead in my camera. Today I was lucky and I am just tickled pink that I have new funny moment to put in her book!

I have been studying like crazy for my classes. The computer class is easy, but the medical terminology isn't so easy. We do three new chapters a week and for each chapter we have to learn 75 new terms. So that is a total of about 225 to learn each week! Once you get the prefixes and suffixes down, it isn't so bad. What get tough is when you have more than one for the same thing. It gets confusing on the spelling.

The over kill on the studying I have been doing this last week has paid off! I got a 100% on my last terminology test! Plus five extra credit points to go towards my overall grade for getting the extra credit questions right!

I just learned about this awesome software called “Sure Cuts a Lot” that allows you do to so much more your Cricut! You can now cut any font that is installed on your computer, use SVG files located all over the net to cut even more shapes! You can even turn your paper piecing patterns into SVG files and cut them from your Cricut! How exciting is that! I tried it out at friends out and I can’t wait for my copy to arrive in the mail!

Extend the Life of Your Cricut Mat

We all love our Cricut machine and wouldn’t trade it for live, but there is one down fall. The life of our cutting mats! Replacing the cutting mats can become an expansive chore, but here are some helpful tips on extending the life your mats.

Rotate:
Rotate your mat every time you cut. Reposition your cutting. This way you are not constantly using one portion of the mat while leaving perfectly good sticky on the rest of the mat. You can either flip it the opposite direction or use the arrows on the machine to start cutting in a completely different area of the mat. If you are a sure cuts a lot user or a cricut design software user this is pretty easy because you can visual position your cuts anywhere on the mat.

(Get two mats and rotate between the two is also a very helpful tip.)
Cover:
Keep your mat covered. If you don't all the particles floating in the air can land on your mat and and prevent it from being sticky. Use the clear plastic or store your mats face to face to prevent dust and debris from landing on your mat.
Clean:
Clean off extra paper from your mat every time you use it. When you are done with the your cricut mat for the day wipe them down with a damp cloth or use baby wipes. Baby wipes are just part of my scrapbook supplies. They keep your hands clean, surfaces clean, they wipe up craft mats after using ink techniques. Wipe your mats with baby wipes. They will feel less tacky but as they dry the sticky will return. Another handy tool is a lint roller. It can be helpful to pick up dust off your cricut mat as well as getting those tiny little pieces of paper off.
You can also use arousal adhesive such as Wacky Tac. A word of precaution if you have a warranty on your machine and you are worried about voiding the warranty don't use this. Place your mat on wax paper. (Or something large enough to catch any extra adhesive.) Cover along margins so that you don’t get any of the sticky on your rollers.

Using this method I have been able to extend the life of my Cricut mats for nearly 6 months.

Well this last week has been a very busy one. This week I have been working on my website for the business I am starting and also getting things ready for me to start school. So things have been pretty hectic.

Today I was able to do things the things that relieve stresses in my life. Scrapbooking!!! I got things ready for to make some mass punch art and paper piecing items, which I plan to sell on eBay. Once they are done I will upload them here for you all to see!

As I was taking a nap today I Geoff called me to ask me if I wanted some Irises. His friends mom was cleaning out her garden and no loner wanted them in her garden. When I awoke from my nap to find that dinner was just about done and the my plants were outside. I go outside to find two big Iris plants and the bottom of the bag was filled with Iris bulbs. My first thought is where in the world am I going to put all of them and he his bringing more in a few days! (We just cleaned out all of the weeds from the garden so my daughter can have a dirt/sand box.) I do not have green thumb at all. I can actually kill a cactus! So I have no clue on how long the bulbs will store or even how to keep them until next year. Well I guess I know how my Sunday afternoon, Googling on to take care of Irises!
